Hello, I'm Deborah. As we all know, we're always looking for the best deals on hotels when we have to travel out of town, but of course we need decent living quarters at those rates.
Finding those hotels is hardly the easiest thing to do, especially when you are obviously new to the city and there only for a brief period. Of course if you find the those great deals, and a good, cheap hotel to stay as well, then you can really save yourself some money.
That is why we've created this page within the site to help you with advice and tips on how to find those cheap hotels in Dallas quickly and at your convenience.
The Insider's Guide On What to Look For and What to Avoid at Cheap Hotels
When trying to find a place to stay in Dallas, cheap hotels abound and can be an excellent option. While some assume that all inexpensive hotels are poorly maintained, this is simply not true. It is absolutely possible to stick to a budget and have a wonderful time in Dallas, cheap hotels included. However, it pays to have a checklist of tips for knowing how to find that bargain room that will leave pleasant memories, not nightmares about a dirty or unsavory hotel. You'll want to look for hotels with an excellent reputation for quality and value pricing. If the location is popular with locals as well as out of town visitors, that is an excellent sign. Avoid hotels that don't have up to date photos, have tired decor and scant descriptions of what you get for the money.
Although cheap hotels may not have all the bells and whistles of luxury lodgings, they can still provide comfortable rooms, outstanding service and more. If possible, try to visit the hotel or have a friend who lives in Dallas check out the lodgings. Be clear that even though you need a room in Dallas, cheap hotels are a necessity. Be honest about your budget. Have that person visit specific rooms and provide details. Nothing substitutes for a personal take on the room. Of course, you'll want your friend or business associate to have similar standards as your own. Have them include information on amenities included, perhaps a mini refrigerator or bar in the room or similar items. Be sure to ask about the bathroom and have them check out the tub, toilet and sink to make sure they aren't dirty. Since it isn't always possible to have someone check out the hotel for you, the next best option for finding accommodations in Dallas is to look at online ratings.
These are excellent resources and reviewers are often very candid about their experiences, leaving no detail out about Dallas, cheap hotels and their impression of them. Be prepared, though, because they are likely to go into graphic detail about the type of stains found on bedspreads, trash left in rooms and more. Look for Dallas hotels which are consistently full, an excellent sign that pleased visitors are returning. Your first impressions should count but don't be alarmed if the hotel lobby isn't gorgeous. As long as it is pleasant and clean, that should be sufficient. It could also be an indication that money is being allocated for more staff and better service. There is no point in having a spectacular lobby if the rooms are dingy or drab. After all, you won't be living in the lobby. When in Dallas, cheap hotels are available which meet high customer service requirements.
Rooms should be spotless and noise should be controlled. The room should be clean, even if the amenities are few. Test out the bed to make sure it is comfortable and be sure to be particularly picky about the bathroom. If there are signs that the cleaning service or staff is doing a poor job, avoid that hotel and find another one. There is no point in risking one's health just to stick to a budget. Do look for lodgings which provide the most amenities, including room service. Of course, you'll want to make sure that the bargain room doesn't come with sky high prices for those amenities. If location is a factor, narrow your search to the hotels which are near the places you'll be visiting most often, whether for work or pleasure.

Cheap Hotels - Boon or Menace?
When one is going on vacation, it is only reasonable and highly expected for the person to try finding the cheapest hotel possible. This is no surprise in an economy such as ours, but the question is whether or not you want to sacrifice quality for price. There are a number of questions that you will need to ask before you do so, most of them about the exact reason the price is so low.
The first thing you need to take a look at is the location of the hotel room. There are plenty of Dallas cheap hotels, and many of them are very attractive to tourists. The question however, is what type of area is the hotel situated in? Let's say you pick a hotel in Southwest Oak Cliff. This area looks fine during the day, but at night you will find that it has quite a bit of gang activity. This can be a serious problem for some people, and it may in fact end in your vehicles being stolen. Does that mean you will definitely become a victim if you stay in these areas? No, it doesn't, but the opportunity is there, and you need to make sure you are well aware of it! Many people have often reported that downtown Dallas in general is an unacceptable area to rent a room in, so keep this in mind when you are traveling.
Gang and criminal activity may not be the only reason a hotel is described as cheap however. Some Dallas cheap hotels may in fact be just that: cheap. You may find that the beds are uncomfortable, and you might find that the water is unsanitary. Other nuisances could be extremely thin walls or even non-working televisions. Also keep in mind that some hotels in Dallas are cheap because they are not within close proximity to grocery stores or hospitals. This can become a hazard or an inconvenience depending on what you need. This is just something to keep in mind when you are traveling in the great state of Texas.
If you are traveling by yourself you might not be too terribly upset by this, but if you are traveling with your family, it would be best to take some preventative action before you choose any Dallas cheap hotels. The best thing you can do is a bit of research before you go. This is a lot of work, but it will take you a long way and keep you out of danger. Instead of randomly picking Dallas cheap hotels on your way, you should pick out hotels ahead of time that are within the vicinity of your travel area. It will not only guarantee that you pick the right hotel, it will also ensure that you have a sense of structure on your vacation, which will give you a sense of accomplishment and ensure that you get things done on time. That being said, do some research and have fun!
